66 Chrysler Tailight Mod 59 Caddy tailights in a 66 Chrysler 300 Progress Pics
There were a ton of angles and curves but I did my best to build a sturdy little cage for the 22gauge sheet out of 3/4" flatbar. I used some iron pipe running up the wall of the house to do most of the bending! The 59 Cadillac base units were tacked into place. I ran & checked the wiring before tacking up the sheet.
I used metal filler to make it smooth. The tailight lenses had to be modified to fit in the base unit without the 'chrome bezel' that usually comes with 59 caddy tailights. They were shortened, and then the part cut off was narrowed and fit inside the tailight to create a tab to fit inside the base unit. This was Krazyglued together (!) and then a thread was tapped into the lens so they can be removed by a hidden screw if the bulb burns out. BACK
